They spend their lives waiting for happiness to arrive and find them in some way as it is something that could be possessed. However, When happiness does arrive, it appears to be so brief that it goes quickly.

People erroneously believe that happiness is only a fleeting emotion. I’m here to tell you that happiness isn’t only a state of mind, it can also be a way of life. Happiness exists right here, right now and it could be yours on a daily basis if you put into practice the ten habits of truly happy people.
1. They stay grateful for everything they have
Happy people recognize the value of everything they have and don’t take it for granted. Every day, they consciously focus on what they already have rather than on what they need. They express gratitude for what they have instead of lamenting over what they haven’t been able to achieve yet.
2. They assist others
Happy people take the time to help others whenever they can. They find their own happiness in caring about the happiness of others.
According to several studies, when we perform an act of kindness with the intention to make another happy, our brain releases what we called oxytocin or the love hormone. That’s why we feel so happy when offering help to others.
If you want to be happy then, make it a habit to give more generously, give as much as you can, and assist others.
3. They focus on their strengths
Happy people used to focus their energy on watering their strengths. They are convinced that when they focus their energy on developing their strengths, they grow much faster than when attempting to improve their weaknesses.
To put this habit into practice, you must first recognize and examine your weaknesses. If you don’t find that they’re holding you back or preventing you from progressing, there’s no reason to devote time and effort to fix them. Use that energy to focus on what will help you progress in life: your strengths.
4. They set time to do what they love every day
Happy people are disciplined to do things they love every day. Whatever the tasks included in their daily agenda, they make time for things that fill them with joy and make them extremely happy.
To apply this habit, make the activities you love a priority, include them in your daily schedule, and make sure to do them whatever happens in your day.
5. Happy people find reasons to laugh and from strong connections
Have ever heard that laughter is the best medicine for your heart? It is completely true.
Laughter is beneficial to your health according to several studies. It allows you to feel the joy and silliness of the present moment. It also enables you to form, strengthen, and deepen relationships. This is critical because true happiness is derived from the depth of our human connections, not from our richness in money or other possessions.
Don’t be afraid to laugh more and more. Laugh at yourself. Find humor in difficult times; it’ll bring more joy and happiness into your life.
6. They stay positive whatever happens
Whatever the bad thing happening, happy people do their best to push away all pessimism about the situation. They accept it as it. But instead of spending time complaining about what happening, they face those challenges with enthusiasm and optimist.
To apply this habit, learn to focus your attention on the positive things, rather than the negative ones.
7. They try new things
When you try something new, even when you fail you feel proud for having tried. This boosts your courage and confidence and fills you with joy and happiness.
Allow yourself to get out and see what the world has to offer. It’s enormous! There are some things you’ve never done right in your own yard. Try something new and see how much happiness you feel.
8. They exercise regularly
Happy people tend to exercise more regularly than their peers and remain physically active as they get older.
Want to test this habit? get out and go for a run or reach the gym for some exercise. Get your heart pumping and feel the endorphins flowing through your body. They’ll make you happy!
9. They have a growth mindset
Happy people have a growth mindset because they believe that their talents can be developed (through hard work, good strategies, and input from others). They are more likely to achieve more than those who have a fixed mindset (those who believe their talents are innate gifts). This is because they worry less about appearing smart and they put more energy into learning.
10. They surround themselves with happy people
Happy people tend to be supportive, warm, and generous. These qualities are contagious and they will encourage you to be happy too. On the opposite, hanging out with miserable people will weigh you down and won’t allow you to focus on your own well-being and goals.
